Scott Engler is the founder of Sync-Align, an executive alignment practice for PE-backed companies. He helps operating partners and portfolio company leadership teams — CEOs, CFOs, and CHROs — align around the priorities, decisions, and talent moves that drive value creation, measured against the investment thesis rather than peer benchmarks.

Sync-Align grew out of a simple observation from years of working inside and alongside leadership teams: value creation plans rarely fail on strategy. They fail on alignment. The thesis is sound, but the team isn't aligned on priorities, the operating cadence is weak, and the plan lives in a deck nobody runs on Monday morning. Sync-Align exists to close that gap — turning the value creation plan into an operating system the team actually runs.

Scott brings 17+ years advising C-suite leaders at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and execution. He spent more than a decade at CEB, now Gartner, where he led the firm's most successful CFO and CHRO practices — advising hundreds of finance and people leaders on strategy, talent, board relations, and business performance, and building two of the fastest-growing businesses within the Corporate Executive Board. His domain has spanned 850+ CFOs and 1,400+ CHROs, and he was consistently ranked among the firm's top-rated speakers and facilitators, with roughly 40 engagements a year.

That vantage point — sitting with CFOs and CHROs as they tried to turn strategy into execution — is where the Sync-Align approach took shape. Scott went on to advise across executive search and private-equity-focused talent (including as a Partner at True Search placing financial officers, and Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners) before founding Sync Executive Partners to support PE- and VC-backed companies with high-impact executive talent and alignment during transition, growth, and transformation.
